Dry skin

January 26th, 2007

dry skinEczema is a very irritating skin condition. Every winter my children and I are busy itching, and applying some corticoide based ointment. Desonide (Tridesonite) works really good for all of us, but just under my nose I have a greasy skin condition, that flares up every time I get eczema. My latest dermatologist gave me one cream that works, well at least for the greasy under-nose part, but for my face which was breaking out in mosquito-bite like thingy’s, it just dried it out totally. She said to look at it as a sort of mini face peel. Ha! I would have been grateful, but some of those spots were on my eyes and I put a very small amount on it and my whole eye lids are now peeling. That hurts more than mosquito-like scratching and irritation! Needless to say I stopped. The following day, I went to my rescue oil, Nexxus Botanical Oil. It’s a mix of all sorts of pure oils that are great for the hair, skin and nails. Even when my skin is greasy (usually in the summer time) I put a very light layer on after having showered. The water and oil together are great. It turns into a kind of emmolient. Wonderful for sun sensitive skin. It really hydrates and nourishes.
For nails and hair it does wonders as well, you should really try it. It’s not expensive, it’s a very heavy oil, so you don’t need to use very much and it’s multi-functional.

Beautiful New Year

January 1st, 2007

beauty faceI feel so ugly. Nothing seems to fit anymore, my eyes are swollen, I have a cold, and it’s New Year’s eve.
Quick fixes like the Ultra Regenerating Lifting Serum from Collistar,
or Instant Eye mask from Guinot will surely come to my rescue.
fatAs for the feeling fat part, well, it’s not going to go away with the champagne from this evening, but I know that I’ll need some good diuretics. Take a look at these sites Nutrasanus and Targetwoman or great natural dieuretics, might come in handy! Have a Happy New Year 2007, please don’t drive, sleep over.

And for heaven’s sakes if you can’t sleep over…walk! You’ll feel better in the morning, and you won’t be taking silly risks, you might be walking a little funny but being silly is fun. Deady is not.

Restoring and Rejuvenating Cremes

December 14th, 2006

Roc renewexBeauty stuff I tried and highly recommend: At the moment I’m using the ROC MicroDermabrasionExpert System. It’s so nice. It vibes the dead cells away very gently with the aid of the cream/paste of micro crystals of aluminium that you use on the face brush shaped machine. The dead cells go and so do sun spots age spots or those ‘nice’ souvenirs of pregnancy spots.

I have been asking dermatologists from all over what is the best cream to slow down aging?

They all said sunscreen. You won’t stop aging, but if you protect yourself, your skin will not resemble a prune, at least not that soon.

The sun screen I use everyday is Minesol 50. It protects and has a really flexible colored base to it. You don’t need to use a base make up fluid at all. Then there’s Minesol 30 that has a nice matte finish.

Roc as a dermatological company has been keeping their promises, and continues to do so.

estee lauderAn old timer, but a great product, Estee Lauder’s Advance Night Repair really does it’s job. I lived in NYC and still remember endless parties and getting home at 6am, then getting to work by 9 and I’m serious when I tell you this product works! It’s been put through quite a few tests! and now there’s a new one! I haven’t tried it, but it must be good since it’s just an improved version of the “old” one.

clarins restorative serumThere’s the Super Restorative serum from Clarins that is just brilliant

darphin predermine and of course la creme de la creme of face creams and my personal favorite Darphin. Their whole range is great. Specific skincare that really works. It does make a difference.

Beauty and the Body

Sleeping beauty

Being beautiful is an inside outside 24/7 self loving task we should all priorotise. Beauty comes from within, and should show without qualms on the outside just as well. It’s not all about the make up the clothes and the fabulous body, it’s also about feeling beautiful and looking beautiful in track pants and messed up hair. There’s a natural beauty that exudes from a woman man or child and it’s great to be around that person and admire it. The beauty is there, in everyone, make the most of it.

This blog is going to be about all the different aspects of beauty, and this is the first article and I have so much I’d like to share, so please if I get carried away, bear with me things will get on track..let me ramble for a while.
Weight is an amazing thing. Sometimes it creeps up on us, and sometimes it’s all of a sudden.

Especially after the holidays, that’s the “all of a sudden kind of weight”. The lazy, creeping up on you kind of weight gain is before menstruation, during medication, not watching what you eat or when. Stress is also an increasing factor these days. The list is endless to the reasons and even more amazing is the list of medications, diets, or if you really want to talk chop there’s Surgery.

When we look good we feel good. It’s as simple as that. Men, women, and children alike.

It is an inner confidence about ourselves and how we appear to the world outside.

If you feel like shit on the inside, but look great on the outside..hey take a look in the mirror. This is you. This is what you project. And no matter how rotten you can feel inside, it does inevitably boost your self estime and make you a little happier just the same. A lot of times it’s not as simple as that. I know. Believe me, I really do. But, if you work on yourself, you’ll be amazed at what you’ll get as profit. A little bit of a work out, watch out for nasty food, find time for loved ones (that will get your stress down) and find some time for yourself doing things that make you happy!

Not easy but start somewhere.
